Welcome to Steady On. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our AI-powered mental health support platform. By using Steady On, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Steady On, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

Steady On is an AI-powered mental health support platform. We provide therapeutic conversations through AI technology to help you work through life's challenges, build self-awareness, and develop healthier patterns.

The service includes:

  • AI-powered therapy sessions via text and voice
  • Continuity across sessions through context and memory
  • Different AI personas and approaches
  • File upload support for sharing documents

3. Important Disclaimers

Not a Substitute for Professional Care

Steady On is NOT a replacement for professional mental health treatment. Our AI provides supportive conversation but is not a licensed therapist, counselor, or medical professional. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, suicidal thoughts, or need professional care, please contact a qualified mental health professional or crisis helpline immediately. In emergencies, call your local emergency services.

4. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use Steady On
  • You must provide accurate account information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access

5. Subscription Plans and Credits

Free Tier

  • New accounts receive starter credits to try the service
  • Limited features available

Paid Subscriptions

  • Monthly or annual subscription with included credits
  • Access to additional features (voice, file uploads, etc.)
  • Unused subscription credits may roll over (subject to limits)

Credit Packs

  • One-time credit purchases
  • Credits do not expire while your account is active

6. Billing and Refunds

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance (monthly or annually)
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period
  • Credits are generally non-refundable except as required by law
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice

7. Your Data and Privacy

Your use of Steady On is governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes in detail:

  • What data we collect (including therapeutic context)
  • How we use your data
  • What data is shared with AI providers
  • Your rights to access, export, and delete your data

8. AI Provider Terms

To provide our service, your conversations are processed by third-party AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI). By using Steady On, you acknowledge that:

  • Your messages and context are sent to these providers
  • Each provider has their own terms and privacy policies
  • API data is NOT used for model training by these providers
  • Providers may retain data briefly (up to 30 days) for abuse monitoring

9. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to use Steady On to:

  • Generate illegal, harmful, or abusive content
  • Harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Attempt to bypass usage limits or security measures
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
  • Use automated systems to abuse the service
  • Process data you don't have rights to share
  • Attempt to extract or reverse-engineer the AI models

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

10. AI-Generated Content

Important: AI-generated responses may contain errors, inaccuracies, or reflect biases. The AI is not a licensed professional. You are responsible for evaluating any AI output and should not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or crisis decisions.

  • AI responses are provided "as is" without warranties of accuracy
  • Do not rely on AI for professional medical or mental health diagnosis
  • Verify important information with qualified professionals
  • The AI may occasionally provide inappropriate or unhelpful responses

11. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit. By using Steady On, you grant us a limited license to process your content through our service and AI providers as necessary to provide the service.

Our Content

Steady On, including its design, features, personas, prompts, and branding, is owned by us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without permission.

12. Service Availability

  • We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service
  • We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice
  • Scheduled maintenance will be announced when possible
  • Third-party AI provider outages may affect service availability

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • Steady On is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months
  • We are not responsible for AI provider errors or outages
  • We are not responsible for decisions made based on AI outputs
  • We are not liable for any harm resulting from reliance on AI-generated content

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Steady On and its officers, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

15. Termination

  • You may terminate your account at any time through account settings
  • We may terminate or suspend accounts that violate these Terms
  • Upon termination, your right to use the service ends immediately
  • You can request deletion of your data per our Privacy Policy

16. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved through:

  1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
  2. If unresolved, binding arbitration under applicable rules
  3. Small claims court remains available for qualifying disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Steady On is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or through the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Steady On regarding use of the service.
